Annyeonghaseyo chingu! 😃
Let me tell you about my experience in applying for a Korean visa but it's different from usual. Because my sister is sponsoring our trip. She will be going with us and will pay for everything.
Five of us planned on traveling this year and we started planning it last January or February. We thought we only needed to fill out the application form and submit our photo and passport. We thought since my sister is the sponsor, she will only need to present documents. However, after submitting all of our requirements to a travel agency that's connected to their company, the said agency asked for supporting documents because I mentioned that I have a work. My other sister also needed to submit the same documents because she's a real estate broker.
There were 3 documents needed from me : bank starement, bank certificate and ITR. My sister told them that I don't have an ITR because I am working at home. So the agency wanted me to create an explanation letter instead.
I didnt have a hard time getting a bank certificate and bank statements from my bank. I had to pay P100 each though.
The travel agency informed my sister that the money in the bank doesn't need to be high because we're being sponsored by her. So I guess, if you're the sponsor, then you need to have a large amout of money in the bank so your visas will be approved.
Yesterday, I created the explanation letter and signed it electronically. I converted the file into PDF. I have read a blog that it's better to write it manually. But I also read another blog that she did it on her computer.
I am praying we will get multiple entry visas so I can visit Korea next time by myself. 🙏 I will update this blog once we knew the results.
